Today, a well-rounded training profile can be offered with logistics, marketing, personnel management, accounting and auditing and business informatics. The European Business Administration course was introduced in 1997 and was expanded to International Business Administration in 2002. With this internationally oriented course of study, the university meets the requirements of companies in an increasingly globalized economy, as does the course in International Tourism Management (from 2004).

Industrial engineers, as analytical engineers and market-oriented business people, are the link between these two worlds. A sophisticated curriculum in this course guarantees the balance between engineering and economics knowledge while at the same time emphasizing the soft skills that are particularly important for managers in the areas of management, corporate management and production.

The Aviation Business - Piloting and Airline Management course (since 2008) combines pilot training, the European Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), with academic training. Because airlines need more and more pilots who are not only able to fly airplanes, but also have economic and engineering skills to solve complex problems that work with airlines entails.

A multitude of business degree programs In 1971, we started with 6 different degree courses in business administration and business economics, which have over the years been adapted and modified to meet changing market demands. • Logistics
  • Marketing
  • Human Resource Management
  • Accounting and Auditing
  • Business Informatics
We introduced the Bachelor’s degree program ‘European Business Administration’ in 1997 which developed into the B.A. program ‘International Business Administration’ (IBA) that has been offered since 2002. Through our IBA programme and the similarly focused Bachelor’s degree program ‘International Tourism Management’ (ITM), introduced in 2006, we are meeting the demands of an increasingly globalized economy. 3 German-French bilingual double-degree programmes, jointly organized with the Université de Lorraine in France complement the variety of international business studies at the htw saar:
  • Business Administration
  • Logistics
  • International Management & Tourism
Combination of  engineering & business skills Graduates from engineering management programmes combine the analytical skills of an engineer with the market awareness of a business graduate. The well-designed curriculum ensures that students receive a balanced mix of content from the engineering and economic sciences and that they acquire the soft-skills needed by managers working in modern technical and engineering environments. Since 2008, we have been offering a B.Sc. program in ‘Aviation Business – Piloting and Airline Management’. The program combines aviation training, in which students acquire the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), and academic tuition that provides a solid grounding in business economics. Airline carriers increasingly need pilots who are not only capable of flying aircraft, but who possess the necessary economic and technical expertise to solve the complex issues that can arise when working in the aviation business. Part-time education Our comprehensive portfolio of degree programs is complemented by multiple part-time academic education initiatives for working professionals, such as the Master’s program ‘Management and Leadership’ or the cooperative study program ‘Business Administration’.
