With around 2,400 students, the Department of Economics is the largest department at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences. For over 45 years, the department has been successfully training economically, practically and value-oriented.

Practical

We are committed to offering our students high-quality business education. 36 professors, 40 lecturers from practical experience and 16 employees accompany the success of the study every day. Our professors have several years of professional experience in various industries and integrate the diverse practical experience into the demanding teaching. Experts from the field regularly give guest lectures. Our students also get to know local companies on excursions.

Networked

The department maintains close relationships with local and national companies in order to make the best possible start to their careers and to optimally prepare students for a wide range of business activities. In long-term and trusting partnerships, we promote the exchange of science and business. We are constantly expanding our network. We accompany our students over several years on their way to completing a university degree. Even after graduation, we want to experience how your career entry and career steps go. International

So that our students can act successfully and confidently in intercultural work environments, we encourage them to be mobile across national borders and to acquire intercultural skills. Around 200 students spend a year studying at one of the department's more than 90 partner universities worldwide. Many of them take the opportunity to obtain a double degree. Every semester, numerous international guest students come to the department, so that internationality is actively lived.

Personally

It is important to us to personally accompany the course of our students' studies. We are aware of our social responsibility and place great value on technical know-how, but also on values ​​and personality when training tomorrow's decision-makers. In addition to imparting specialist knowledge, our courses promote social skills, critical thinking and ethical awareness.
