Commitment alongside your studies

There are various student initiatives at our faculty that are designed, organized and managed independently by the students.

You have the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge, gain practical experience and benefit from existing networks.

If you have the time and inclination to take part, you will find an overview below:

  • The student council is a student representative body and is your contact for all questions and problems related to your studies. New members are welcome.
  • Since the team was founded in 2006, Technikum Mittweida Motorsport (TMM) has been the starting point for motorsport enthusiasts from all faculties of Mittweida University. Active students are currently being sought for the technical and commercial areas.
  • Ventus Novus e. V. advises as a student management consultancy inside and outside the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. As a member, you get insights into the professional world and are confronted with a variety of different problems. You can join at any time.

Business start-up service

  • SAXEED is the start-up network of the four southwest Saxon universities TU Chemnitz, Mittweida University, TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau. The offer includes the transfer of founding-relevant knowledge as well as start-up support.

Institutes

  • The Institute for SME Cooperation Mittweida - MIKOMI - offers a platform to network companies more efficiently, to transfer scientific solutions into practice, to set impulses and to underpin them with qualification offers.
  • The Institute for Energy Management (ifem) provides services, development and research on energy management and technical issues for both public and private clients. The institute also takes on teaching tasks at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences and pursues the concept of networking teaching and research.

Research projects

  • The joint project Open Engineering "OE2" of the HS Mittweida and the TU Chemnitz describes the further development and realization of an innovative and extra-occupational course platform for engineering courses and further education offers.
