Science and practice-proven business skills enable students to obtain high-quality training that qualifies them both for a direct entry into the profession after completing their bachelor's degree and for advanced master's and doctoral programs. The department also strengthens the flexibility of its graduates through its high methodological competence. Small groups in teaching and direct contact with the teachers enable interactive lessons. In event forms such as projects, exercises and business games, the students acquire important professional skills.

Research and teaching in the department are characterized by a special application orientation. The transfer of scientific knowledge into operational practice promotes the transfer of know-how to the company and ensures the employability of the graduates. IT and media literacy will be promoted throughout the course. As an application-oriented decision theory, business administration relies on up-to-date information acquisition and analysis as well as the presentation of decision-relevant data.

The association of sponsors of the department of economics has been with our department since 1974. In addition to personal members, the association includes over forty well-known companies. They form a network that is available to our students from the start of their studies, be it for the completion of the necessary internships, the practical project-related implementation of their own thesis, by enabling working students, offering guest lectures, etc. Ä. As part of the introductory week for freshmen as well as the graduation ceremony and the annual faculty meeting, our support association presents itself on a larger scale. He also supports various departmental projects, ideally and materially, and thus makes a significant contribution to the success of our everyday departmental work.

Internationality is an integral part of teaching and research. International exchange relationships are particularly important in an export-oriented nation like Germany. These international aspects are addressed in teaching and the international exchange of students and teachers is promoted through the network of partner universities abroad.
