Our Faculty has embarked upon innovative, future-oriented teaching methods which produced the first graduates of the new Pharmaceutical Sciences and Bachelor and Master of Chemistry program. The Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry also have established the Römer Foundation which honors the best graduates and researchers at an annual ceremony.

Research successfully conducted over the past two years can be viewed in our bi-annual Research Report. One aspect of this is the creation of the Excellence Cluster named "Center for Integrated Protein Science Munich (CIPSM)", which brings together life scientists from multiple research institutions in Munich.Many Faculty members have been recipients of internationally renowned awards such as the Leibniz Prize of the German Research Society (DFG). Our Faculty now boasts five recipients of that prize, and we have undertaken to attract outstanding German researchers working in the United States. Third-party funding has been boosted by the establishment of a second, DFG-financed special research area which deals with dynamic chemical processes.Research activity:
