The Faculty of Economics is (in addition to the then so-called Faculty of Electrical Engineering / Computer Science) one of the two founding departments of the "University of Applied Sciences Harz" in 1991. The study operation at the site Wernigerode was in the winter semester 1991/92 with 75 students in the degree programs Business Administration, Tourism and Business Information Systems. Outstanding courses of study developed in the following period in business psychology, tourism management, service management and two international dual degree programs. Already with the winter semester 2004/05, all full-time diploma courses were switched to the Bachelor's degree. After completing the Bachelor's degree program, you can now earn a Master's degree in five degree programs. In addition, the department offers the option of extra-occupational and dual studies.
