The Faculty of Educational Sciences forms the umbrella for teaching and research from three institutes: Institute for Educational Science Institute for Vocational Education and Vocational Didactics Institute for Social Education, Social Work and Welfare Science The diversity of the institutes with their two dozen professorships makes it clear that there is much more to it than schools in the narrower sense Senses: Our focus is on the entire span of life and on many different spheres of life: school and leisure, early childhood education, further education, vocational training, knowledge management, care, media research, intercultural aspects, health promotion ... As a modern social science, which on the one hand analytically and evidence-based and at the same time derives instructions for professional action, the educational sciences find their home alongside the other disciplines in the field of "humanities and social sciences". There are also very close relationships with the technical and scientific disciplines at the TU Dresden, not least because the students in the various teaching degrees attend specialist courses at other faculties. The faculty finds a reliable partner in the Center for Teacher Training, School and Vocational Training Research (ZLSB) for coordinating the cross-faculty teacher training.
