The teaching at the Law Faculty of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena is characterized by the goal of providing young lawyers with comprehensive training for their later professions and leading them to their first examination. The teaching profile of the faculty is characterized by a research-based transfer of knowledge and skills , which teaches students to think and work independently and prepares them for exams and practice at an especially early stage. The legal education, especially in Jena, also includes the basic subjects legal philosophy, legal sociology and legal history in their diversity and sets strong accents in the specialist education.

The lecture program of the Law & amp; Language Center , which introduces foreign legal systems in English, French, Spanish and Russian. In addition, the Faculty of Law is known nationwide and internationally for the successful participation of its students in various Moot Courts .
