Our mission

We research and teach at the interface between business, law, computer science and engineering. In this interdisciplinary context, we conduct research at an internationally leading level.

Our self-image

We provide concrete solutions for urgent socially and economically relevant issues. We initiate interdisciplinary research projects and contribute our expertise to the projects of the institutions of the Technical University of Darmstadt. We strive for national and international networking and visibility. Our students are among the best trained industrial engineers and business informatics in Germany. We aim to impart professional and personal skills to our students and junior academics that qualify them for outstanding management tasks in science, business and society in a globalized world. We achieve this in particular through interdisciplinarity and a strong international character in teaching and research, which we will continue to expand in the future.

Our profile

With our independent teaching and research profile, the department performs an initiative function within the Technical University of Darmstadt. We see our role within the university in recognizing the economic potential of technical developments and making them usable as well as analyzing and shaping the legal framework. We thus make an outstanding contribution to the national and international reputation of the Technical University of Darmstadt.
