The Faculty of Life Sciences is home to courses that are directly related to the basic living conditions of people. The range of subjects ranges from health and nutritional sciences to scientific and engineering disciplines. These areas are among the important future fields of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Biotechnology, environmental protection, healthy eating, health, medical technology, process engineering, security and rescue are areas that affect many people directly and make an important contribution to the development of our society. Technology teaches us how to plan, build and operate the necessary equipment and systems. Industrial engineering solves business-related, technically networked issues.

The interdisciplinary orientation of our range of courses strengthens the networking among the courses. This means enrichment and deepening for teaching and research. Applied science and intensive contacts to practice facilities provide impulses for the further development of our course content. We have always maintained close contacts with other scientific institutions in and around Hamburg.
