The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNF) consists of the subjects biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, pharmacy, physics and psychology.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNF) employs more than 800 Scientists in seven departments: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Physics and Psychology. Among the wide-ranging research areas covered by the faculty, several cooperative programmes put specific emphasis on Life Sciences and Physics.

The MNF currently teaches more than 13.900 students in nine bachelor programmes and nine master programmes, and offers a State Exam in Pharmacy.

The "Interdisciplinary Graduate and Research Academy Düsseldorf" (iGRAD) offers an extensive education programme for excellent young researchers.

Our goal is a community in which both teachers and learners are responsible for good teaching. The basis for this is respectful cooperation and mutual support, which enables trustful cooperation and an open learning environment.

We see diversity as both a challenge and an opportunity and strive to recognize and promote the specific potential of the individual. Through active participation of teachers and learners in the design of teaching, we enable constant development of the learning culture at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the sense of a culture of lifelong learning. We consider research and teaching as a unit and promote interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary exchange. Special commitment to study and teaching receives corresponding recognition in the faculty.
