The fields of business informatics and mathematics hold key technologies for meeting the major challenges of today’s economy and society. With its research, the School of Business Informatics and Mathematics contributes to the continuous development of the methods applied in both fields. We teach mathematics and informatics through innovative, interdisciplinary degree programs, and apply our methodological expertise to a wide variety of projects in cooperation with our partners from industry and research.
Research
Our key areas of research include the modeling and analysis of complex dynamics as well as the management of large and complex data sets.
Academics
The School of Business Informatics and Mathematics offers programs in Mathematics in Business and Economics, Business Informatics, and Data Science. With a wide network of international partner universities, students have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad to gain valuable experience in another country. Thanks to its considerable economic power and its central location, the Rhine-Neckar region provides students with excellent internship and job prospects with regional employers such as SAP and BASF as well as numerous medium-sized businesses.
