• The entrance test takes place in February and September, around 14 days before the start of classes at the preparatory college.
• All applicants must take the German entrance test.
• Applicants for the M-course must prove knowledge of mathematics in an additional test.
• The math test takes place on the same day as the German entrance test.
• Aids (e.g. dictionaries, grammars, formulas, calculators and other electronic devices) are not permitted in any of the tests.
• Admission to the preparatory college depends on the requirements of the chosen focus course and the number of applicants.

The German entrance test usually consists of three parts:

• The first part of the test consists of a C test (short texts with gaps).
• The second part of the test primarily tests your knowledge of sentence structure.
• The third part of the test is reading comprehension with multiple-choice questions.

The total working time is 60 minutes.
In each of the test parts, more than 40 percent of the assessment units must be achieved.

As a rule, around 600 to 800 hours of German lessons are considered sufficient preparation for the German entrance test (competence level: around B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​).
