For this type of course, the framework plan provides for German, mathematics and physics or chemistry as subjects for the written examination; computer science, physics and chemistry internships are offered as further subjects.

The course, participation in the entrance test and assessment test are free of charge. You pay a semester fee per semester.

The courses start in both the summer and winter semesters.

All applicants for one of the main courses (T, W) and for the introductory course must take an entrance test, as there are always more applications than places.

The invitation will be sent after the application has been processed by uni-assist. It is only sent digitally by email and can be submitted to apply for a visa. We do not create provisional approvals.

The entrance test takes place here, in the preparatory college at the Technical University of Berlin, and includes the subjects German and mathematics for all applicants and usually lasts 3 hours.

The results (included/not included) are posted online on the preparatory college website. During the exam, a number is assigned to the applicants, with which they can find out their result.

The preparation for the test must be done independently, the preparatory college does not offer any preparatory courses for the entrance test.

Exemption from the entrance test is not possible.

If more applicants pass the test than there are places available, the results of the test will decide who will be accepted.

Teaching at the preparatory college is usually completed by taking the "Feststellungsprüfung" (written and oral part) after the second semester (upper course). Participation is also possible externally, without prior attendance of classes.

Feststellungsprüfung is an abbreviation for the "examination to determine the suitability of foreign applicants to study at universities in the Federal Republic of Germany".

The FSP of the focus courses includes all subjects, three of which are examined in writing.

The introductory course ends after one semester with the assessment test in German.

A failed exam may only be repeated once at the same preparatory college.

A certificate is issued for passing the assessment test, which, together with the proof of previous education, certifies that the holder is qualified to study at all scientific universities in Berlin and the other states of the Federal Republic of Germany in a field of study (T, W or M). .

Particularly talented students can take the assessment test after just one semester by passing the so-called changer exams in three subjects at the beginning of the sub-course. The following files contain examples of a Wechsler exam. The content of the Wechsler exam in mathematics includes all the content of the mathematics sub-course (analysis and elementary mathematics).
