Materials that are used for components in the vehicle industry, electromobility or aerospace, for example, should be lighter, more robust or more environmentally friendly. For planning, construction and production, material science and material technology as well as mechanical engineering know-how are required.

In the basic course, scientific, mathematical and engineering basics are taught and methodological and specialist skills are expanded. In the main course, our students specialize in one of three subject areas (electromobility, manufacturing processes or construction) and gain practical experience through internships in industry or research. During your studies you have the opportunity to get involved in an interdisciplinary way in the university's Racetech Racing Team and to help design and build an electric racing car. The diploma thesis marks the successful completion of the course. Individual support for students by the professors as well as modern equipment enable optimal study conditions in Freiberg.
