An automobile is a complex technical product and requires high level university competences in development. Therefore, development can only be taught interdisciplinarily. Due to the cooperation of all departments in the master program Automotive Engineering, the conditions are ideal at Technische Universität Ilmenau.
Based on an intensive research cooperation with the automotive and suppliers industry on national as well as on international level, especially in development, evaluation, production and quality assurance, the training is absolutely state-of-the-art. This practice-orientation is guaranteed by intensive training in automobile-related construction, measuring and simulation technology, modern training in labs and on the test area as well as by close links with honorary professors and visiting scientists.
Students are involved early in the research of the groups through student participation in research teams and independent processing of project tasks.
