    Методика оценки заявок

At the University of Mannheim there is no classic numerus clausus (in the sense of a limit grade). In our selection process we take the following criteria into account:

    • the average grade of the university entrance qualification
    • the grades in mathematics, German and the continued foreign language of the last four school semesters
    • Professional experience in the commercial sector; extracurricular activities related to the subject
    • very good command of English
    • If you do not have German citizenship or a German university entrance qualification (Abitur or comparable qualification), you must prove German language skills at C1 level

When the ranking list is drawn up by the selection committee, the following criteria are taken into account during the selection process:

    • 1. the average grade of the university entrance qualification,
    • 2. the grades in mathematics, German and a continued foreign language shown in the university entrance qualification,
    • 3. other study-relevant previous experience within the meaning of § 6 paragraph 2 sentence 2 number 3 HZG, in particular vocational training or work in a recognized training occupation that provide information about the subject-specific suitability, as well as special previous training, practical activities, in particular voluntary services, or extracurricular services and qualifications that provide information on the subject-specific suitability.

For each student applicant, a number of points is determined for each selection criterion in accordance with the following rules. The evaluation of the submitted evidence is carried out by the selection committee; Paragraph 4 remains unaffected.

    • 1. The average grade of the university entrance qualification is converted for the selection process by assigning a score of 15 points for the average grade 1.0. 2For every one-tenth increase in the grade, 0.33 points are deducted from the initial value (15 points). The result is multiplied by a factor of 5. 4Maximum 75 points can be achieved.
    • 2. The performance in the subjects of mathematics, German and the best advanced foreign language are weighted as follows: 2The grade points obtained in the subjects mentioned in the last four semesters in the upper level are added and the total is then divided by the number of half-years taken in all subjects mentioned divided. 3The subjects specified by the applicant in the application for admission are taken into account according to the evidence submitted. The result is then multiplied by 2. A maximum of 30 points can be achieved. If the achievements in the university entrance qualification are not listed in grade points, the selection committee decides on an equivalent conversion of the stated achievements.

Up to 30 points can be awarded for previous experience in the sense of paragraph number.

    • a. A maximum of 8 points can be awarded for commercial or comparable relevant work experience (vocational training, work experience and internships). 2A completed vocational training is assessed with 4 points. 3In the case of professional experience or internships, individual activities are assessed with a point value of up to 2 points each, the assessment being made depending on the duration of the activity (<4 weeks = points x 0; 4 weeks - 3 months = points x 0.5; & gt; 3 months = points x 1). All performances that provide information about the subject-specific suitability are assessed. Activities are considered if they correspond to at least one full-time job with at least 35 hours a week.
    • b. In view of the international orientation of the Business Administration course (Bachelor of Science), a very good knowledge of English is seen as a special prior education. These are rated with 20 points. Proof must be provided by:
      • Consistent study of the subject English in upper secondary school, whereby the average of the grades shown in the university entrance qualification must be at least 11 points,

      • the submission of a university entrance qualification acquired in an English-language school system,

      • by completing a degree taught in English

      • If no proof can be presented according to the three points above, one of the following language test results that are not older than two years:

        1. Test of English as a Foreign Language - Internet-Based test (TOEFL iBT) with at least 100 points in the Test Date Score,

        2. The European Language Certificate (telc) - English University with at least (language) level C1,

        3. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Academic Test with at least Volume 7.0,

        4. Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) with at least Level C. A Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with at least Level C.

    • c. A maximum of 2 points can be awarded for extracurricular performance that provides information on subject-specific suitability.

The scores determined in accordance with paragraph 2 numbers 1 to 3 are added up; the maximum achievable score is 135 points. The applicants are listed in descending order according to the number of points they have achieved. 3If they are of equal rank, § 6 Paragraph 2 Clause 8 Clause 1 and Clause 9 HZG apply.

The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Business Administration can, in order to ensure the uniformity of the selection process, resolve additional requirements for the consideration of evidence for individual selection criteria, in particular for grade conversion as well as for the consideration of previous experience within the meaning of paragraph 2; the selection committee is bound by the resolutions.
