Business Administration (BWL) is the scientific examination of the "economy" of "enterprises". "Operation" is a narrower traditional term for business. "Business" is understood as the responsible use of scarce resources. Ie. In business administration, it is fundamentally about investigating the use of resources such as raw materials, goods, personnel and capital in companies, as well as developing knowledge and tools in order to shape enterprise activity in all its dimensions in such a way that the input / output Ratio is as optimal as possible.

In addition to the university entrance qualification, the basic prerequisite for the study of business administration is the interest in entrepreneurial thinking and acting as well as general economic topics.

The study of Business Administration in the Bachelor's degree program is generally divided into two study phases, each comprising three semesters. The first study phase consists exclusively of compulsory modules and serves the acquisition of course specific basics and methodological competence.

The second study phase serves to deepen subject-specific and interdisciplinary content. Subject-specific specialization takes place through the choice of one of the alternatively offered focus module groups as well as one of these focus module groups with a thematically assignable Bachelor thesis.

The Faculty of Business, Economics, and Management Information Systems at the University of Regensburg is an educational institution that has a strong track record in research, and is recognized for its practical application. It is comprised of the Institutes of Business Administration, Economics and Econometrics, Management Information Systems, and Real Estate Economics.

With over 2,500 students, it is one of the largest faculties at the University of Regensburg. There are around 30 professors and assistant lecturers teaching and researching at the faculty, and approx. 110 employees working there.
