Anyone studying computer science here is at the forefront of innovations and discoveries in this fast-paced and exciting field. You will learn the essential basics that will enable you to master the computer systems of today and tomorrow at a high level. You are working on major advances that will have a major impact on our world today and in the future: the Internet of Things, trustworthy software or artificial intelligence.

Your degree begins with a comprehensive two-year program that gives you a deep understanding of the basics of computer science. Depending on your interests, you can then specialize by choosing from a wide range of core and advanced courses taught by a world-class faculty.

Учебный план программы обучения "Computer Science"

The course is taught entirely in English and includes a compulsory part with mathematics, programming, algorithms and data structures, theoretical computer science, machine learning and system architecture. In this way a solid introduction to the basics of Computer Science is given (link to the curriculum)

From the fourth semester onwards, you can specialize your studies according to your interests by choosing from a wide range of more than 20 core courses that deepen a certain area (e.g. artificial intelligence, computer graphics, visual computing, complexity theory, software engineering , Databases, compilers etc.). In this way you can deepen your knowledge and deal with current research topics.

You will complete your studies with a bachelor thesis in one of the more than 70 research groups headed by internationally renowned lecturers at the Saarland Informatics Campus. After your bachelor's degree, you can continue your studies at Saarland University by applying for one of our master’s degree programs or for a doctorate at our graduate school.
