Описание программы обучения "Dentistry"

According to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, only licensed dentists are allowed to treat diseases of mouth, teeth and jaw.

The dentist training consists of studies in dentistry at the university and comprises the areas of restorative dentistry (preservative dentistry), dental replacement (prosthetics), dental surgery, and orthodontics. It not only teaches practical skills, but also social, ethical and human skills. In the dialog with their patients, dentists today not only treat health disorders relating to the teeth, the mouth and the jaw - a work area of growing importance is the prevention through information (prophylaxis or prevention). In recent years, the prevention of caries and periodontosis has become more and more import in the dialog with the patient.

Before taking up studies in dental medicine, students should ask themselves whether they possess some of the important prerequisites for this profession: craftsmanship, physical resilience, good vision, patience and, above all, the ability to relate to patients, for dentists treat humans, not only teeth.
