Программа обучения Flight Operations Technology with Traffic Pilot Training

Программа обучения "Flight Operations Technology with Traffic Pilot Training" в FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences

Flugbetriebstechnik mit Verkehrspilotenausbildung

As an alternative to the "classic" course in aerospace technology, the FH Aachen offers the possibility of a "dual study" in cooperation with a European flight school. This course is completed with a Bachelor of Engineering and an ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License). The dual training system shortens the duration of the study (alternatively, the duration of the training) compared to training courses that are otherwise carried out in series. Whether global aviation, its optimization or aircraft testing, flying will continue to be an essential part of our world in the future. Precisely because of the ecological and sustainable questions of our time, ingenuity in technology and the implementation of new ideas are essential for the coming years. With the content of the course, our students are prepared for future aviation. To the Aerospace Technology Department.

Карьерные перспективы по завершению программы обучения "Flight Operations Technology with Traffic Pilot Training"

After studying flight operations engineering, many doors are open: you can pursue a master's degree, a double degree or a doctorate with us. Or you leave the university and quickly find an attractive and challenging job as a traffic pilot or in a highly innovative professional environment in industry. You work

  • as a pilot of an airline's commercial aircraft in the national and international aviation industry.
  • at aircraft manufacturers.
  • in the component and subsystem supply industry.
  • with operating companies such as airlines and airport operators.
  • with authorities and agencies.
  • in many high-technology sectors of mechanical engineering and energy technology.

As a pilot or copilot of a commercial aircraft, you are responsible for flying and for preparing and following up the flights.

The combination of studies and training enables you to see the aviation industry from the perspective of the flying staff, which is a great advantage for the simultaneous or later work as an engineer. For example, knowledge of the work processes in flight operations can be advantageous when it comes to solving engineering problems.

As a graduate of this course, you always have a special perspective. You are not only a pilot and ensure that your passengers reach their destination safely, but also an engineer. This means that you understand the technical background of flying and therefore know the theoretical and practical side of aviation and can combine both.

But you can also take on technology-oriented tasks in the aviation industry and work as a test pilot.

Ожидаемые результаты программы обучения "Flight Operations Technology with Traffic Pilot Training"

In addition to a broad base of engineering knowledge and experience in project management and working in teams, graduates of the flight operations engineering course with traffic pilot training have specific skills that result from the specialization in flight operations engineering:

Graduates specializing in flight operations technology

  • have in-depth knowledge of aircraft technology, e.g. in the field of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion technology and aircraft systems
  • can independently carry out computer-aided and experimental investigations on the aircraft, its components and systems
  • know the air law relevant to the operation and maintenance of aircraft and helicopters

Стажировки и практика в программе обучения "Flight Operations Technology with Traffic Pilot Training"

We are a leading, but also family university. Care is very important to us.

For us, practice is an indispensable and consistent part of the course:

  • There are regular field trips to industrial companies and development departments .
  • Subjects or partial subjects are read by representatives from industry .
  • We operate several own research aircraft .
  • In the course, apart from the flight school, opportunities are offered to fly, fly and prepare for the flight yourself .
  • We operate small satellites or small satellite communications with the help of a self-installed ground station.
  • We do some of our aircraft maintenance work .
  • We operate various laboratories of various types (including vibration technology, electronics / electrical engineering, flow channels, vacuum chambers, drive / engine technology, virtual reality and much more) to impart practical basic knowledge to enable tests for practice - and theses
  • During the course, various compulsory practical modules are completed during the semester and extensive projects are offered for participation

As one of the most research-oriented universities of applied sciences in Germany, you also benefit from our innovative research focuses and our cooperation with domestic and foreign research institutes. We distinguish ourselves particularly in various points:

  • We are leading the competence platform "Synergetic Automotive & Aerospace Engineering" , in which the fields of aerospace technology, mechanical engineering and mechatronics, design as well as applied natural sciences and technology are networked.
  • We are working on studies, concepts and construction on future developments such as flight tax, sustainable, improved propulsion for aerospace, aircraft construction methods, systems for space missions and much more.
  • Started projects are always checked for feasibility and then put into action - The path should always lead from the idea to the implementation .

In student projects you use these offers to get involved according to your interests and preferences. Through our alumni network and contacts you also get a direct insight into the corporate world.

Учебный план программы обучения "Flight Operations Technology with Traffic Pilot Training"

In the first three semesters, you will complete compulsory modules from the area of mathematical and scientific foundations (e.g. mathematics, physics, technical mechanics, electrical engineering and thermodynamics).

In the fourth and fifth semesters, you will study subjects in flight operations technology and write your bachelor thesis.

In the sixth to eighth semester, the theoretical and practical training takes place at the flight school. The course then concludes with a colloquium.

FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences

It's the 21st century, aerospace technology with its interdisciplinary and innovative research fields has had a decisive influence on our lives today and will certainly change our future lives to an even greater extent.

Among other things, aerospace technology explains and develops answers and solutions to important questions of future mobility, such as:

    • Why does an airplane fly, why doesn't a car (yet!)?
    • How do satellites change their orbits and which propulsion systems make this possible?
    • How can satellites be of help to the global climate?
    • How can aircraft, spacecraft or vehicles be made even safer and more reliable?
    • How can an engine be made quieter, more efficient and more eco-friendly?
    • Which innovative materials will be used to build future aircraft or spacecraft, and can these materials also further evolutionary developments within other areas of mobility, such as the automotive industry?

Nowadays, many achievements in aerospace technology have already been incorporated into other engineering disciplines - especially into modern automotive technology.
Some process definitions in the development of modern automobiles and their components, such as fault tree analyses (FTAs), have their origins in aerospace engineering and are indispensable components in quality and safety management.
Nowdays, it would be unthinkable to imagine modern automobiles without materials such as GFRP, CFRP and aluminium. Some core competences, goals and achievements in aerospace technology, as well as in vehicle and drive technology, therefore go hand in hand.
Accordingly, it makes sense that our faculty combines both fields of competence, because learning together also means learning from each other.

In close cooperation with strong partners from industry and commerce, the faculty develops the future of mobility - on the road, in the air, or in the vastness of space.

The degree programmes combine profound basic knowledge and expert knowledge with a strong practical orientation.
Decide for yourself which specialisation will help you steer your future in the right direction, and, in addition, individualise your studies with numerous options.

Take advantage of our international contacts and industrial cooperations, if need be, for a semester abroad at one of our numerous partner universities or for introductory work placements - worldwide.

Get off to a flying start with us - the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering looks forward to welcoming you!
