The following selection criteria are taken into account to create a ranking of the bachelor's degree programs:
1. Result of the university entrance qualification (average grade and points) Average of the university entrance qualification:
The calculation of the average grades is determined according to Appendix 2 of the University Allocation Ordinance. For graduates of the one-year vocational college, the stated subject grade is used, for those of the multi-year vocational college, the last grade is used. Foreign grades are converted into German grades, where possible, in accordance with the guidelines of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany.
2. Successful participation in the orientation semester "startES!" at Esslingen University
Successful participation in the orientation semester "startES!" at Esslingen University can be rewarded with a reduction of up to 0.4 when calculating the selection grade. The exact extent of the remuneration depends on the respective degree programs and can be found in the table in Appendix 1 and the respective statutes for the university's own selection process at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences in the full-time and part-time bachelor's degree programs in "Social Work", "Early Childhood Education", "Nursing & Health", "Biotechnology" and "Industrial Engineering".
3. Previous experience that provides information about subject-specific suitability, such as
a. completed vocational training that is beneficial for the degree program applied for or professional experience of at least 2 years in a training occupation in accordance with the appendix to these statutes and
b. special previous training, practical activities in the field of activity of the beneficial vocational training specified in the appendix that provide information about subject-specific suitability and last at least 24 months,
will be rewarded when calculating the selection grade in case a. with a reduction of 0.2 and in case b. with a reduction of 0.1. Only one specific qualification or practical activity can be taken into account.
Activities in accordance with a. and b. must be proven by appropriate documents by the application deadline of January 15th or July 15th. Subsequent submission is not possible.
