Методика оценки заявок
To select students for the Bachelor of Business Informatics course, we carry out an aptitude assessment process. This is a two-stage process in which we check your suitability for the special qualitative requirements of the bachelor's degree program.
Stage 1: Checking your documents
We make a pre-selection based on the documents you upload. You will either
- directly classified as suitable and admitted to study: 84 points or more,
- invited to stage 2: 73-83 points,
- or rejected directly: 72 points or less.
What matters?
- Your average grade in your Abitur certificate or your university entrance qualification
- Subject-specific individual grades in mathematics, German, English, economics and law and natural sciences continued up to the Abitur, including computer science. If there are no grades in the subjects mathematics, German, English or the best advanced natural sciences including computer science for the last four semesters or if no average grades are shown in these subjects, admission to the 1st level is not possible.
- Extracurricular additional qualifications such as relevant professional training, a subject-relevant internship lasting at least 2 months, participation in TUM's studiumMINT, successful participation in "Jugend forscht" or "Mathematics Olympiad" (at least award at state level).
Stage 2: Test
Anyone who receives a corresponding number of points in the 1st stage of the aptitude assessment procedure reaches the 2nd stage: a performance survey in written form. The test
- takes approx. 90 minutes,
- comprises 20 to 30 questions, about 10% of which are in English,
- takes place in person on the Garching campus (end of August). The invitation will be sent out at least one week before the test date.
In the test, the applicants should prove that they
- have above-average mathematical skills (school mathematics including combinatorics),
- Have the ability to think abstractly, logically and system-oriented and to formalize solution approaches,
- are able to find solutions to transdisciplinary questions from the areas of natural science, computer science, technology and a wide range of application areas.
As soon as you receive an acceptance – in level 1 or level 2 – you are admitted to the course and can enroll. If you have received a rejection, you can apply again for a future semester.
