The design of digital business models and the strategic use of IT in competition requires expertise in the fields of economics and computer science. The interdisciplinary degree in Business Informatics (Information Systems) provides you with exactly this combination of skills.
Business IT specialists deal with questions at the interface between IT and economics: How do successful organizations use data, information technologies and systems? What is the strategic value of data? How are business processes optimized? How does the value chain of the internet economy work from a technical, legal and business point of view? You will also acquire in-depth methodological knowledge of data analysis, process optimization and the management of IT management tasks.
Building on this bachelor's degree, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Passau offers the research-oriented Master of Science (M.Sc.) Business Informatics, in which you can deepen the knowledge you have already acquired. In addition, the English-language double master's program "Digital Enterprise Management (DEMA)" is offered at the University of Passau in cooperation with the Finnish University of Turku.
