Описание программы обучения "Information Systems"

As an application-oriented subject, information systems has its own methods and tools and draws on the disciplines of economics and computer science. Other important auxiliary disciplines are mathematics and statistics. Thus, research and teaching content from the listed disciplines is taught during the degree programme.

The study programme provides an overview of the design possibilities using information technology (IT) and conveys an understanding of possible areas of application in the context of companies or in everyday life. The focus is on the design and development of information and application systems to support processes and activities within and between organisations and households.

The B.Sc. in Information Systems prepares students to solve the following and other questions:

• How can IT projects be carried out efficiently and successfully?
• How are requirements for software products defined correctly and completely?
• How is software implemented, tested and rolled out as economically and effectively as possible?
• How are companies/business processes supported with the help of information systems?
• What role do information systems play in the operations of companies?
• What structures and system approaches exist in the area of IT systems?
• How are processes and procedures correctly modelled within a company / IT system?
• How can decision-making processes be supported with the help of data and IT?

We receive applications from a large number of different nationalities for the majority of our degree programmes, so a large international and intercultural environment exists both at the faculty and within your degree programme. A large number of courses are therefore offered in English, depending on the specialisation.    

Optional semester abroad

The WiSo Faculty is a member of several networks of international universities, which assists you in spending a semester abroad at a renowned partner university. The programme is designed so that you can spend a semester abroad in your fourth or fifth semester. We will be happy to advise you and provide you with organisational support before, during and after your exchange.
