Intercultural exchange, your subject a Material science is the discipline in which materials are researched and developed from a scientific point of view. It is one of the key technologies of the 21st century:
- New lightweight materials, high-temperature materials or high-performance magnets increase the efficiency of vehicles, turbines and engines.
- Innovative electrode materials multiply the lifespan and storage capacity of batteries.
- High-performance "smartphones" or computers are only possible through semiconductor materials with extreme purity and the control of their atomic structure.
- Optimization of magnetic properties for the production of more powerful and lighter electric motors.

You are interested in a one to two semester study stay on the exchange programs, a research stay, a language course or an internship, or you would like to participate in a summer school. Studying in the Bachelor’s study program in Materials Science resembles studying physics or chemistry. In the basic modules, you will learn primarily the natural science and mathematical foundations, such as higher mathematics, experimental physics, materials science basics and chemistry. In addition, elements from the engineering sciences flow into the studies. The core modules will provide you a deeper look into materials science.
