Molecular aspects of the subject areas and topics from biology and biotechnology form the focus of the course. Biologically and biotechnologically relevant basic scientific knowledge of chemistry, mathematics and physics as well as the basics of molecular, cell and organismic biology and evolution are supplemented by natural or life science and biotechnological methods, including statistics, and their application in the laboratory and practice.
The elective modules are a first opportunity for students to make a professional profile. Basic bio-safety and environmental concerns, biological-biotechnologically relevant rights and regulations as well as the guidelines for good scientific practice round off the preparation for the challenges of the professional world. The bachelor's degree ends with a scientific thesis.
