Программа обучения "Physics" в Goethe University Frankfurt

Physik

From our daily contact and dealing with technology and nature arises a variety of questions that can be successfully clarified with the help of natural sciences and in particular with the help of physics. Physics is the science of the structure, the properties, the states and forms of motion of the matter around us as well as the underlying and responsible forces. There are many branches of physics, e.g. Astrophysics, atomic physics, biophysics, solid state physics, nuclear and elementary particle physics or optics, to name just a few examples.

Описание программы обучения "Physics"

The essential goal of physics is the quantitative description and thus the understanding of natural processes with the help of mathematical equations. For this, experiments are necessary to precisely measure these natural processes, as well as theoretical considerations, usually in the form of calculations, to formulate the experimental results in mathematical language. Physics distinguishes itself from mathematics by its direct connection to natural phenomena. Physics differs from other natural sciences and technical subjects in that it always aims at the deepest possible understanding of the phenomena. The subject of physics is, in addition to the study of the laws of nature, the application of the results obtained in economic-technical field. For the graduates of physics courses there are good job prospects, not least because of this.

Карьерные перспективы по завершению программы обучения "Physics"

The fields of activity of physicists are extremely broad.

In addition to activities closely related to the subject, such as B.

  • Researchers at universities, public research institutions and industrial laboratories,
  • Teachers in schools, colleges and universities,
  • Collaboration or independent activity in development, production, sales, industrial and process engineering in industry and business,

increasingly includes other areas, such as

  • the field of data processing and analysis,
  • the management consultancies,
  • banking and stock exchanges,
  • the medical field,
  • the management, especially for the development of complex quantitative decision models,
  • the system analysis,
  • the patent system.

What qualifies physicists for such activities is, in addition to pure specialist knowledge, a pronounced understanding of complex technical and organizational relationships, in particular the judgment trained by dealing with the facts and methods of a "strict science". In particular, a well-founded judgment about the consequences and social compatibility of scientific innovations should be considered. Developing such judgment is an important goal of studying physics.

Международный обмен по программе обучения "Physics"

Stays abroad provide insights into other higher education systems, enable you to develop practical skills, promote your own flexibility and assertiveness and offer the opportunity to develop an understanding of cultural differences. So that the potential of a stay abroad can be fully exploited and the stay abroad is not just a superficial visit with no lasting effect, it should be well prepared.

Учебный план программы обучения "Physics"

In the course of study, you first get to know an overview of the fundamentals of experimental and theoretical physics, as it has been developing for more than 400 years. At the same time, you learn higher mathematics, without which it is not possible to work in physics. In addition to lectures and exercises, you also take part in laboratory internships in which experimentation is practiced. In the bachelor's degree, you acquire all the basic skills that a physicist needs.

At the same time, you begin to familiarize yourself with specialist areas and finally write a bachelor thesis in either theoretical or experimental physics. The master’s degree, which most students follow, then moves on to modern research: during the master’s thesis, you work in a group of researchers, gain new knowledge about nature, apply it and specialize in a limited subject.
