The course combines the subject and method studies with professionally oriented elements (e.g. compulsory internship) and their own focus. In doing so, he imparts important competencies to the students for today's job market. The international perspective will include guaranteed by a semester abroad in the fifth semester, which is mandatory for all students who have decided to study internationally in the profile area. As an alternative to the international orientation, the students can choose a method-oriented focus at the Eichstätt location. An explicit application orientation of the BA degree program in politics and society is intended to promote the rapid integration of graduates into the labor market. This is supported by a number of practical offers, e.g. a mandatory 6-week internship, excursions and rhetoric courses. With a view to the special profile of a Catholic university, the students should above all be made familiar with ethical aspects in politics, society and science. This includes e.g. the ethical dimension of professional conduct, the responsible use of social data or a scientifically based attitude when selecting research topics. In a mandatory supplementary area, therefore, both general and professional field-related events, e.g. on research ethics, data protection or Christian social teaching.
A focus is achieved through the combination of a broad "basic education" in the core subjects of political science and sociology and a specialization from the third semester in three profile areas: "World and Europe", "Politics and Communication" and "Society and Social Processes".

Catholic University of Eichstätt-IngolstadtThe Faculty of History and Social Sciences (GGF) is home to the departments of History, Sociology, Political Science and European Ethnology / Folklore. It is one of the traditional, interdisciplinary and international faculties of the KU. Around 15 professors and numerous academic staff at the GGF provide excellent support for around 450 students.
