The Master’s degree in Psychology (M.Sc.) has been offered at the University of Bamberg since the 2010/11 winter semester. In Bamberg, depending on their interests and professional goals, master’s students can specialize in the following areas: "Clinical Sciences", "Cognition, Education and Development" and "Personnel and Organizational Psychology". The degree is a general Master of Science in Psychology. This means that with this degree all professional fields of psychology are open, including training as a psychological psychotherapist.

Ожидаемые результаты программы обучения "Psychology"
The aim of the master’s program in psychology is to deepen the basic knowledge of the subject acquired in the bachelor’s program and to develop it further in the sense of a content specialization in the applied disciplines of psychology towards later professional practice. Furthermore, advanced scientific and methodological training should enable, after completing the M.Sc. Psychology to work independently scientifically in research and practice.
The MSc. Psychology entitles, among other things, to take up training as a psychological psychotherapist or clinical neuropsychologist and to continue an academic career with the aim of a later doctorate, for example in a doctoral program or as a member of the Bamberg Graduate School for Affective and Cognitive Sciences (BaGrACS)

The Master's degree in Psychology has a modular structure and consists of a compulsory and an elective area.
Compulsory curriculum:
- Compulsory module research methods (3 courses)
- Compulsory module diagnostics (4 courses)
- Compulsory module clinical sciences (2 courses)
- Compulsory module cognition, education and development (2 events)
- Compulsory module in personnel and organizational psychology (2 courses)
- also an internship with 15 ECTS (can also be split up and / or completed in different institutions)
- Master thesis
Elective Curriculum :
3 elective modules each, with a maximum of 2 WPM from one area
- Area of clinical sciences with the elective modules
- WPM behavior therapy
- WPM Psychiatry
- WPM Neuropsychology
- Area of cognition, education and development with the elective modules
- WPM Cognitive Psychology
- WPM Development and Developmental Disorders

- Area of personnel and organizational psychology with the elective modules

Interdisciplinary course:
One interdisciplinary course with 3 events (total 9 ECTS)
e.g. Psychiatry, neurology, applied human resource development, political psychology, psychology in literature, aesthetic psychology, ...
Example for elective module registration
For example, you could take the WPMs Neuropsychology, Behavioral Therapy and Development and Developmental Disorders (2 modules from the field of clinical psychology, 1 module from the field of cognition, education and development.
Not you could choose the module combination: development and developmental disorders, cognitive psychology and instruction and counseling (all from the field of cognition, education and development, but you can choose a maximum of 2 modules from one area).
