Учебный план программы обучения "Psychology"

The course offers you numerous options. This means that you have a strong influence on the specific content of your studies. In any case, you will receive a solid education in the research methods and fundamentals of psychology, with the option of a clinical specialization that meets the professional requirements for an M.Sc. in psychotherapy according to PsychThApprO from March 4, 2020.

Semesters 1 to 4

At the beginning of the course, you will primarily learn the fundamentals of psychology.

• In biological psychology, you will learn a lot about biological structures and processes, for example in the brain.
• You also have courses in general psychology, which deals with the topics of perception, learning, thinking, motivation and emotion.
• Another central area is developmental psychology. This deals with psychological development over the lifespan.
• In personality psychology, differences between people and personality traits play a major role.
• Social psychology describes the influence of other people on one's own experience and behavior.

In addition, you will learn about the methods of psychology and empirical work. You will also get an initial insight into various fields of application of psychology: in work and organizational psychology, in clinical psychology, in child and adolescent psychology and in neuroscientific psychology.

Semesters 5 and 6

Later in your studies, you will also learn about counseling and mediation psychology. You will also deepen your application-related knowledge. Depending on your interests, you can build up your skills in personnel, organizational and business psychology, in clinical psychology, in educational psychology and child and youth psychology, as well as in neuroscientific psychology.

You will also deepen your skills in another elective module. Here you can choose from 'In-depth study in work and organizational psychology', 'Fundamentals of clinical child and youth psychology', 'Prevention, intervention, public health' and the basic in-depth study in neuroscientific psychology.

You can further sharpen your profile through modules on counseling and mediation, medical aspects and imports from other courses. In addition, you will be able to increasingly apply your methodological knowledge. And of course you will further deepen your knowledge of psychological diagnostics. Through a professional internship (or several professional internships) you will also be able to gain insight into one or more areas of work.

As part of your bachelor's thesis, you will finally be able to demonstrate your ability to work on a (self-selected) question from psychology using scientific methods.

Applicants can increase their chances of getting a place on the B.Sc. Psychology course by successfully completing the BaPsy-DGPs aptitude test. Participation is not a requirement for the application, but is recommended.

It should be noted that even with a very good university entrance qualification grade (e.g. high school diploma grade 1.0), only a maximum of 60 out of 100 points can be achieved in the selection process. A maximum of 40 points can be supplemented by a flawless test result.
