The University of Regensburg (UR), founded in 1962, is a modern campus university on the southern edge of the medieval city.

The university has a wide range of subjects and at the same time convinces by its good relationship and excellent infrastructure. Initially planned as a regional university in the mid-20th century, in the new millennium it has become a renowned, internationally oriented center for research and teaching.
