The Ernst Abbe University (EAH) Jena was founded in 1991 as the Jena University of Applied Sciences and was thus one of the first in the new federal states. For several years it has not only been Thuringia's largest, but also the most research-intensive university for applied sciences.

Currently 4,550 young people are studying with us in bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering, business administration and health and social sciences. According to the slogan: "Innovation for quality of life - health, precision, sustainability & networking" we strive for interdisciplinary cooperation in teaching and research. The university offers its students an innovative and scientifically sound degree high practical relevance.
The intensive research and development of EAH Jena contributes to a large extent to strengthening the Thuringian technology potential. In particular, the master’s courses are linked to key research areas.
EAH Jena cooperates with numerous universities worldwide. The proportion of exchange students is increasing continuously. Lecturers also work temporarily at universities in Europe, Asia and Africa. This development is specifically promoted through numerous cooperation agreements.
