Stock traders buy and sell securities or mediate securities transactions between suppliers and buyers on the organized market, the stock exchange.
Stock traders trade in securities and values, such as stocks, bonds, foreign currencies, currencies, raw materials and their derivatives, e.g. options or futures. In doing so, they use price, exchange rate or interest rate fluctuations to, for example, achieve the best possible profits or to secure and control solvency or the procurement of financing.
To do this, stock traders observe and analyze developments on the world markets and (world) political events from the perspective of their possible effects on the securities market. They also keep an eye on the economic development of individual companies or sectors in order to be able to estimate how their shares might develop. Based on their analyses, they develop trading strategies and try to implement them. They process transactions independently within the framework of the agreements made with their clients. If there are significant price deviations, they may consult with the clients and recommend alternative strategies.
As lead brokers licensed under the Stock Exchange Act, stock exchange traders can be entrusted with setting the prices of shares of the companies they manage in addition to their trading activities.
