As part of the Bologna Process, the Philosophical Faculty has created a promising course structure that makes maximum use of the faculty's professional diversity. 7 part-time, 25 teacher training, 84 bachelor's and 57 master's courses of all kinds serve almost every conceivable interest. A time slot model that has existed since the 2010/2011 winter semester ensures that the range of courses does not overlap to a large extent.

The tuition grants allocated to the universities as compensation after the abolition of tuition fees by the Free State of Bavaria are used at the Philosophical Faculty in close cooperation with the student representatives strictly for the purpose of "improving study conditions". Thanks to the tuition fees, we were not only able to ensure more sensible student-teacher relationships in the classic mass subjects, but also noticeably broaden the range of courses offered by the Faculty of Philosophy. A large number of additional tutorials and teaching assignments complete the offer. We strive to maintain and further improve this level in the future.

Through the sustainable use of both the basic state personnel available and the tuition fees and study grants, the Faculty of Philosophy has created the necessary structural conditions to master the challenges of the steadily increasing number of students. The basic characteristic of the faculty is the great variety of subjects in the fields of philology, history, cultural studies, music research and geography. A future-oriented structure in research and teaching ensures that this diversity does not simply stand side by side, but rather is brought together creatively. The aim of the faculty is not mass processing and quantity, but a high quality of teaching. Regular evaluations promote the achievement of this goal.

Every student is equally welcome at the Philosophical Faculty. In many subjects, regular studies can be started in both the winter and summer semesters. This is not a new, untried achievement at the Philosophical Faculty, but a long-established and cultivated tradition.
