In addition to the basic courses in physics and mathematical physics, Würzburg also offers the more application-oriented course in nanostructure technology as a consecutive Bachelor / Master course. The faculty is also characterized by strong training in physics teaching for all types of schools.
These offers are supplemented by interdisciplinary courses on topics such as functional materials, space science and technology or experimental medicine.

At the faculty, 10 chairs for experimental physics and 5 chairs for theoretical physics conduct research at the highest level. The focus is on the areas of quantum phenomena in novel materials, applied physics and physics on the nanoscale, the physics of space, time and matter, and the physics of the life sciences.
Good networking with renowned international research institutions as well as with other faculties within the University of Würzburg ensures an excellent scientific working environment.
