CHE ranking: Law studies in Halle
Very good grades for law studies at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU): The current edition of the CHE university ranking once again confirms that law at the MLU has excellent study conditions. The students are particularly satisfied with the overall study situation and organization, the support provided by the lecturers and the support provided at the beginning of their studies. The survey will be published today in the Zeit-Studienführer 2020/21.
The MLU is thus continuing its series of successes in legal training: the lawyers from Halle had already achieved very good ratings in the previous CHE rankings and consistently achieved top positions. "We are proud of the very good ratings once again from the students. They gave us very good grades in all categories," says Prof. Dr. Henning Rosenau, Dean of the Law and Economics Faculty of the MLU. A special focus of Halle's legal training is on the introductory phase: there, student tutors and professors act as mentors for the freshmen to make it easier for them to start their studies. In addition to the course itself, the students at the MLU are particularly satisfied with the offers for a stay abroad, the offers for professional orientation and the scientific relevance of their studies.
There is no admission to studying law in Halle. Around 2,400 law students are currently enrolled at MLU. "In the top group of the CHE rankings, the MLU is the university with the most law students. The number of teaching staff has not increased in recent years. Nevertheless, thanks to the great commitment of all teaching staff, we are able to offer such a high-quality training" , continues Dean Rosenau.
The CHE university ranking is the most comprehensive ranking in the German-speaking area. A third of the subjects are reassessed every year. In addition to facts about studies, teaching and equipment, the ranking includes judgments by students about the study conditions at their university. The University of Halle participated this year with the subjects of business administration, law, economics and business informatics.
