If you have passed the assessment test after two semesters, you will be offered a place on the desired course at the University of Kassel.

Applicants with admission from the Fulda University of Applied Sciences can take part in the college's T or W course, depending on the course they have agreed to study.

• Mathematics: 8 WS
• Physics: 8 WS
• Chemistry: 4 WS
• Computer Science: 2 WS

Every year, a two-week project work phase takes place at the preparatory college, in which the students examine different aspects of a common general topic in working groups. To do this, they research information in libraries and on the Internet, prepare a report and present their results at the end of the project in the form of wall newspapers or a Power Point presentation.

Lessons usually take place from Monday to Friday from 8.15 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Students at the preparatory college are obliged to regularly attend the courses and the written assessments (exams). If you are absent for more than 2 days, a medical certificate must be presented on the 3rd day. In the case of missed exams, a certificate must be submitted immediately.

Before you can be admitted to the Studienkolleg, you must take an admission test in German and in mathematics. The entrance test should show whether you have sufficient knowledge of German to be able to successfully participate in the courses of the preparatory college and whether you have sufficient previous knowledge of mathematics.

The German entrance test consists of a C-test (example). The math test (example) consists mainly of intermediate level tasks.

Possible topics for the math test:

• Calculate with fractions, decimals, powers, ...
• Percentage calculation
• Linear and quadratic equations, fractional and root equations
• Term transformations (binomial formulas, powers, ...)
• Functions in the coordinate system
• Calculations on geometric figures (Pythagorean theorem, theorems of rays, areas, volumes, ...)

The entrance exam takes place once a year at the end of June.

The decision on admission to the college is based on the result of the admission test.

The assessment test is held once a year in the summer semester (June / July) at the Studienkolleg of the University of Kassel. - The assessment test can only be repeated once. It can only be repeated at the same preparatory college.

The certificate of having passed the assessment test is recognized in all states of the Federal Republic of Germany according to the applicable state regulations.

The subject of the written assessment test is three subjects: German, mathematics and physics or chemistry. All subjects taught can be the subject of the oral examination.
