Preparation for the assessment test

The curriculum at our private preparatory college is designed to enable our course participants to successfully study in Germany.

Our teachers prepare the students in a targeted manner for their examination subjects of the external assessment test in Berlin, but recently also for our internal FSP in cooperation with our partner university (this is only fully recognized in the state of Thuringia).

You can choose which of the two paths you want to take.

While the external assessment test in Berlin takes place completely independently of our preparatory college, you have the opportunity to collect preliminary grades for our own FSP in cooperation with our partner university during the course.

Admission requirements: summer/winter semester

Since the classes at the preparatory college and the external assessment test are conducted in German, proof of a corresponding language level must be provided in addition to the university entrance qualification.

Students who have already reached language level B2 but do not have any of the officially recognized certificates (Goethe-Certificate B2, TestDaF [4x TDN 3], telc Deutsch B2, DSH-1, DSD 2 or ÖSD) begin the preparatory college 7 weeks earlier.

If you have one of the officially recognized language certificates, you can start the preparatory college on the regular date (see box on the right).

In this way, the knowledge of German that is required for the preparatory college and the FSP is gradually expanded.
Of course, it is also possible to voluntarily start the preparatory college earlier.

Admission to public universities

After passing the assessment test, you can apply for admission to a German state university with our staff.

The application is generally possible at all universities, as the external FSP is recognized throughout Germany.

We will be happy to help you with the selection and the formalities for the application.

The internal FSP of our partner university allows you to choose from 15 state bachelor's programs at the partner university, as well as to apply to the other universities in Thuringia.

Study fees at the preparatory college

The Rheinisches Studienkolleg is a private institution.

Participation in our M-course, T-course or W-course has tuition fees of €5,900 (euros) and €4,700 (euros) for the G-course if an official B2 certificate is already available (DSH, Goethe certificate, telc, TestDaF).

If you have completed language level B2 but do not have an official certificate, the course will start one month earlier. In this case, the course fees are €6400 (Euro).

It is also possible to start with language level B1. In this case, the course starts two months earlier. In this case the course fee is 6800€ (special discount) (Euro).

The tuition fees include all teaching units of both semesters (summer semester and winter semester).

Classroom and online courses available

* Face-to-face teaching is offered within the framework of the legal requirements. Switching between classroom and online course participation is easy! You can also start from your home country and enter Germany later.

In the G-Course and the M-Course, most of the teaching is conducted online. The final exam for these two courses takes place in Cologne.
