Our preparatory college for foreign students/ Academic Bridging Courses supports international students in starting their studies at the Technical University of Darmstadt and in Germany. We offer programs and courses for linguistic and technical, but above all methodological preparation for studying in Germany. For 60 years, the preparatory college has been supporting international students starting their studies.
Depending on your higher education entrance qualification, taking the assessment test is obligatory if you want to study in Germany. The assessment test T opens access to technical, scientific (without biology) and mathematical courses, the assessment test G to history, German and social science courses. The preparation for the assessment test usually takes place in T-courses or G-courses.
If you did not acquire your higher education entrance qualification in a German-speaking country, you usually have to acquire and prove adequate German language skills before you start your studies. You can do this, for example, by attending our DSH courses or taking the DSH exam.
Participation in our preparatory and introductory courses requires admission from the Technical University of Darmstadt, the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (h_da), the University of Applied Sciences RheinMain/ RheinMain University of Applied Sciences/ Wiesbaden Rüsselsheim, the University of Applied Sciences Geisenheim University or the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (EHD ) in advance. For our T courses and G courses, you must therefore apply to one of these universities - not directly to us. You will then be enrolled as a regular student at our universities. The DSH and StepIn courses also require enrollment - in these cases always at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In these cases, however, your first contact is through us. Courses in the areas of "Intercultural Competence" and "Key Qualifications" are free for students and employees of the Technical University of Darmstadt, but are also open to others.
