Anyone who wants to study at a university in Germany needs a university entrance qualification (HZB). If your foreign school leaving certificate is not recognized in Germany, you must take an assessment test (FSP). At the preparatory college, you can prepare for this test in a specialist course.
The specialist courses last two semesters and are therefore also called annual courses. They begin in January of each year and after the Hamburg summer holidays, usually in August.
