The advanced degree course in marine biology deepens the knowledge acquired in an undergraduate degree course and, if applicable, during employment. Students usually specialize in a subject area such as the biology of European marine fish or marine conservation. There are also master's degree courses that cover a broad spectrum of marine biology.

The course leads to a second university degree that qualifies for a career.
