Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science has adapted the course of study in the course of re-accreditation to the current requirements and developments. From the winter semester 2018/19, enrollments in the reformed degree program are possible. In addition to further mathematical basics (in the field of statistics), the topics "Artificial Intelligence" and "Scientific Computing" are included in the compulsory area. In return, computer science students will in future have much more freedom in the selection of modules - both from their own subject area and from all other subject areas (for example, as a classical minor subject or application subject). What is important for the department is that students can pursue individual study plans even more than before, thereby sharpening their own profile.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is a three-year university degree program

• basic computer science knowledge,
• knowledge in important IT systems and
• the software development skills

taught. It offers a professional qualifying university degree and the prerequisites for a further research-oriented degree.

Individual courses towards the end of the bachelor's program are offered in English in order to meet the international orientation of the subject of computer science.

The consecutive master's program "Computer Science" is a two-year university degree program, which requires the knowledge of the bachelor's degree in computer science. Students can choose a computer science area as a specialist subject and be qualified to advanced development and independent research work in computer science.

The start of studies is possible for the summer and winter semesters.
