The aim of the course is to impart professional skills in areas where cultural sensitivity and intercultural competence are particularly in demand. This requires a well-founded theoretical knowledge about the construction and meaning of culture and cultures in a globalized world as well as diverse communication skills. To achieve this goal, the subjects philosophy, English, German, history, sociology, Protestant theology, Catholic theology, art and musicology are involved in the design of the course within the framework of an integrative concept.
Practical relevance is also very important: ethnographic field research and applied conversation research are on the program as well as workshops and student projects to acquire practical media skills.
