The Bachelor of Arts Culture and Economics (BaKuWi) degree consists of a core subject and a subject.
The core subject media and communication science imparts the basics and theories of communication and media systems. The focus of the bachelor's degree is on the scientific analysis of communication and media. For example, it examines how the Internet, news or films influence and change social systems and society. Business English courses complement the degree.
As a subject, students can choose between Business Administration (BWL) and Economics (VWL). In the subject Business Administration, courses in finance, marketing, management, business informatics, accounting and production are offered. The University of Mannheim focuses on seminars on business ethics. In the subject Economics, students acquire statistical knowledge and gain an insight into micro and macroeconomics. Another focus is on economic history.
