Physics

Technische Universität Berlin

Undergraduate Summer Semester Winter Semester

Physics explores states and processes in nature with the aim of finding universally valid quantitative laws for their description. Their specific way of working with the interaction of experiment and theory, the diverse applications of their results, e.g. in technology, and the strong penetration of physical theories with mathematical models make physics a versatile science.

Physics is indispensable for understanding our world and for solving its technical and environmental problems in the future. In addition to the fundamental question "... what keeps the world together at its core ...", physicists at the TU Berlin are primarily concerned with problems arising from technical applications. Most technical innovations have become possible only through the previous clarification of physical fundamentals. A current example is nanotechnology, which now affects almost all areas of life. Their realization is based on research results of solid-state physics and quantum theory.

Physicists will continue to be involved in finding new sources of energy or reducing environmental impact.
