Psychology

University of Bremen

Undergraduate Winter Semester

The broad scope of contents and methods encompassed by studies in psychology at the University of Bremen both necessitates as well as promotes a multifaceted spectrum of very different interests and skill sets. Psychology as taught at the University of Bremen is oriented to both natural as well as to social science.
The imparting of empirical working methods with qualitative and quantitative methods as well as the scientific-theoretical foundation are a characteristic feature of this subject and are largely integrated in this bachelor's degree in the modules in which the interaction between theory, application and method should be a didactic principle . Psychology is an interdisciplinary science that can be found both in application and in basic research. The primary psychological activities include professional competence in psychological diagnostics (including test design, test application and expert opinion) and the planning, implementation and evaluation of small and large projects in health and rehabilitation, education, law, business and services. From three compulsory elective modules, at least two research-oriented topics from "Applied Psychology I", "Applied Psychology II" or "Theoretical Psychology" can be selected and started, or in some cases can be appropriately deepened in subsequent master's courses.
