Her area of expertise is located at the interface "Applied Computer Science and Visualization" and looks at the extraction of knowledge from data using suitable methods of statistics and computer science. In addition to the preparation of complex data or the extraction of knowledge, analysis and interactive visualization is an important area of activity.
Tasks:
- Focus on the development and application of data-intensive processes for selected practical application domains
- Conception and development of data science infrastructures (e.g. Apache Spark, Hadoop)
- Conception and development of innovative visualization strategies for the exploration and presentation of large amounts of data
- Integration of automatic and interactive analysis methods, e.g. B. from the areas of machine learning, statistics or graph theory
- Setting a focus in a field such as digital forensics, big data, computer visualism or information / knowledge modeling is an advantage
- The willingness to take over basic events in applied computer science and / or digital media is required
- Close cooperation with other specialist areas at the HS Düsseldorf and external economic, charitable and cultural partners in application-oriented research projects
- Development and operation of new courses (also in English) in the context of digitization through innovative teaching formats is expected
- Active participation in academic self-government
Requirements:
- Technical-scientific university studies with excellent performance, preferably in an information technology subject and with reference to the required fields of application and research
- Scientific qualities through an excellent doctorate in a subject-related area of the professorship
- Many years of R&D experience in the area of applied computer science, knowledge-based systems / artificial intelligence, visualization, especially in the a. research
- Proven experience in the acquisition and implementation of research and development projects, especially with external application partners
- Ideally, already extensive experience in teaching
- Interest in the development and implementation of interdisciplinary courses and the use of modern methods of university didactics
Participation in academic self-administration is required. The willingness and ability to support the further internationalization of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences through English-language events and to actively strengthen the development and strengthening of the research profile and related third-party funding is also expected.
