Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Control of pneumatically and electrically operated robot structures for targeted movements in contact with the environment
  • Creation of a coordinated concept for switching various controller operating modes
  • Product-oriented development of a tracking and compliance control for direct-drive coupled robot robotic kinematics
  • Development of solutions for the active and passive suppression of mechanical vibrations of the TCP
  • Systematic controller design using modeling, simulation, optimization, implementation and laboratory testing
  • Analysis and implementation of required security measures along the certification process
  • Establishment and maintenance of subject-specific contacts to universities / research institutes
  • Cooperation with the development departments for drives, valves and controls

Requirements and expectations

  • University degree (ideally master or doctorate) in robotics, mechatronics or technical cybernetics
  • Special knowledge and several years of professional experience in the field of regulation of lightweight robots necessary
  • In-depth knowledge in the field of non-linear control, such as differential-geometric and passive-based approaches
  • Basic knowledge in ROS or other robot control and PLC programming
  • Experience and knowledge of the procedure and tools (Mathematica, Matlab, dSpace) for the mechatronic design
  • Independent, solution-oriented work in a team
  • Good command of spoken and written English
