To strengthen our team in the Center for Internal Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine III, Department of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care, we are looking for the next possible time, part time (25.35 hours / week), limited to 3 years and remunerates after the TV UMN one

Science Doctoral Students (w / m / d) Tender No. 304 O / 2019 (subject to funding through third-party funds)

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Participation in a DFG-funded third-party funded project (MA 5799 / 2-2) to improve the prophylaxis and therapy of solid tumors through immunotherapeutic and targeted interventions
  • extensive cell culture work (tumor cells and immune cells, co-cultures)
  • Independent implementation of animal experimental therapy studies (including weekly visits, blood draws, tumor and organ harvesting) and ex vivo analyzes to assess treatment response
  • Evaluation and publication of the test results
  • if necessary. Cooperation in the preparation of further applications for third-party funding

Requirements and expectations

  • University degree in science (Dipl.-Biologist, Master of Science or equivalent)
  • Experiences in the fields of cell biological and molecular biological laboratory methods (cell culture, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, molecular biological methods)
  • Interest in animal experimental work (ideally proof for independent implementation (FELASA B-certificate or similar))
  • MS Office skills are required
  • sovereign knowledge of English spoken and written
  • careful, accurate and reliable work, teamwork, high resilience and cooperative work style are required
